the work documents western yankee, an event held at the vector collections in austin, texas. the space became a temporary collision of visual languages, western imagery, fashion, music, performance, and street culture compressed into a single environment

frekls presented a collection that moved between contrasting references and aesthetics, combining them into one continuous body of work. rather than documenting the event directly, the photographs follow fragments, gestures, textures, and moments of tension as people moved through the space

the project focuses on atmosphere and proximity, observing how identity, styling, movement, and environment begin to merge together inside a live setting
